Modern Mayors is a new group that spans the state of Michigan— laterally. With musicians hailing from both the Grand Rapids area and the Detroit area, the group aims to bolster and increase the musical dialogue between Michigan’s two largest cities. The bridging of gaps isn’t just geographical though, the band members are united by their belief that music doesn’t have to be dualistic, that it doesn’t have to be purely traditional or purely modern. Our music might best be described as both soulful and surreal.
